mattbass6
That is true but Bass Direct are always good. They have a lovely 2nd hand 2017 Excess in at the moment - http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Vigier_Excess_4_Black_2017.html

I've just taken my 80's Arpege out for a play; criminally it's been in it's case for about four months unplayed - it was still in perfect tune! That Excess is stunning.
winterfire666
its a shame, i know its an awesome bit of kit but it just doesn't grab me visually and thats not the highest priority for me but i wont be buying another bass for a long while so i must be brutal about these things. ive been after an upgrade for a while so ive gotta get it right :^) still a little tempted though. Yeah looks are important for sure. Go and try a passion again, I reckon. I’ve never gone custom personally as although I know what I like in an instrument, putting money on it would frighten me - I prefer to buy something I can play first. Sometimes I think what makes a bass feel and play well can be a combination of things you can’t necessarily put your finger on and add to a custom build spec sheet. Although that’s just me - every ACG and Shuker I’ve played has been fantastic.
Kev
Just whatever you do, try before you buy. So many custom orders are listed for sale within months its silly.
Crawford13
If you are looking a British made custom basses, I would definitely recommend looking at Alpher! Absolutely incredible instruments made by Chris and Al in Yorkshire!
