DanOwens Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Hi guys I'm using one of those cheap BassMax copies off eBay and using an LS2 as a preamp as it does a fair job of sorting out the impedance but I'd like some tone shaping too. Anyone got anything? Preferably reasonably priced too. Tempt me with an EDB2 or a bargain Fishman. Thanks!
petebassist Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I use the K&K Pure Preamp, which is very handy and simple to use - I don't like complicated kit. Clipped onto the belt, I can fine tune volume and tone (sometimes surreptitiously so the sound person can't see ;-) Got on Thomann.

Malvis Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I got by with an LR Baggs Gigpro for a few years. It’s nothing fancy, but it does at least give enough tone control to deal with feedback, and you should be able to pick one up second hand for £60. Good luck!
