Delberthot Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 (edited) The serial number dates the neck plate at 1960-61 and the neck, if original is 87-91 when they changed to the 6 bolt neck. The pickups will be 1990ish to 95 It's certainly interesting Edited May 6, 2018 by Delberthot Quote
bartelby Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Just read up on the little switches on the pickups. Interesting idea... 1 Quote
lowregisterhead Posted May 6, 2018 Author Posted May 6, 2018 The problem may be that an MM neck, a (possibly) 60's Fender body that's been extensively screwed around with and a set of interesting pickups do not necessarily a good bass make. But they might! Not sure I'm willing to surrender a few hundred notes to find out, though. I suspect it might be tricky to sell on... Quote
Bassassin Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 As Frankensteins go, I like that a lot. Mostly from an aesthetic perspective, never mind the provenance of the bits. Quote
fleabag Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 From some angles, that body finish looks like it was done with a wallpaper brush. Could be a trick of the light. I wouldn't exactly call this a customised Stingray either. Quote

The neck is gorgeous. Quote
