mfisher91
Anyone know of any decent London rehearsal studios? Preferably fairly central. Thanks!
Huge Hands
The Joint - near Kings Cross were good, but higher end in terms of price. Borough Studios on Borough High street were cheap but tiny/airless. They've just had a re-furb and I haven't been in since, so can't comment on that. They were the two my bands used, I know there are several more! Happy Jack
Define "fairly central" ... do you mean City / West End or just inside the North/South Circular?
mfisher91
It was pretty vague for a reason. Basically, I'm coming from Northampton, one guitarist is coming from Clapham, another guitarist is coming from Brentwood and our dep drummer is somewhere in North London (I believe). The issue is that our guitarist (Clapham based) never knows what time he finishes work, so it needs to be somewhere easy/quickish for him to drive to, but North of the river so that it's still easy for the rest of us! Happy Jack
Good grief! Geographically challenged or what? Try the King's Cross area, or possibly Camden.
MacDaddy
RMS Studios are just by Putney Bridge. Easy enough to get to from Clapham, and not too bad for the rest of you - depending on what time you rehearse.
christhammer666
you got storm on Holloway road. if your guitarist don't mind public transport instead of driving you can get overground from Clapham to highbury corner then a short walk
dave_bass5
Ive done a couple of sessions at The Premises recently. They are just off Hackney road. http://www.premisesstudios.com/ There is also Alaska studios just near Waterloo station. This is actually at the end of my road but ive never used them. The problem with central London studios is the traffic. Its a nightmare in the evenings so i tend to go with the flow and rehearse outside of central London. It saves the rest of the band having to come in as it seems easier getting out of london at that time of the evening. Most of the time we rehearse in Acton or better still, at Mill Hill music complex. That would be ideal for the OP's band, other than the guitarist. synthaside
Pirate studios in either Notting hill or Earlsfield get my bet https://www.piratestudios.co.uk/
Happy Jack
Northampton and Brentwood to Earlsfield? Good luck with that ...
Twigman
Why not look at Watford? We've got commuters from Brixton, Wandsworth, Dunstable and 2xCroxley Green and use Sanctuary in Watford - easy for M1/M25 and connected to Clapham by train https://www.sanctuarystudioswatford.com/
project_c
Premises or Joint, both good. Although I once left a tuner at the Joint and whoever was working there that day stole it. That would never happen at the Premises. Plus the cafe at the Premises does a very good fry up.

mfisher91
Thanks for all the suggestions, we’re looking into them. Unfortunately I’ve fractured my ankle, so practices are currently on hold!
Happy Jack
Oh good grief! Sorry to hear that mate - hope it's not too serious. I still have a 4" titanium plate holding mine together.
