CameronJ
I’m a relatively recent member of the Sandberg club myself. Had this Electra VS4 for a few months and love it. Upgraded with a passive tone knob which works in active or passive. Had the neck sanded down from gloss to satin finish. I invested in some rather nice Delano knobs too. Strung with Labella Black Nylon Tapewounds. Supposedly Sandberg’s “budget” range of basses but my god it’s nice! And its soon to arrive sibling:

We already have one! But most of the picture links are dead now. 1
fretmeister
I've had 3 and I miss them all Of the 3, I really wish I hadn't sold the white one. It was superb. At the time I was only gigging 5 strings and playing that only at home. Should have kept it. Someone on here bought it. Can't remember who though.
CameronJ
That is a nice flock of Sandys! All of them sold now?
Cuzzie
This is my kind of club! These are my 2 glorious bases Jon Snow and Donkey Kong: They had a sister Shirley, but I had to let her go, great bass, fully passive.

Cuzzie
Pretty unique, cheers. Passive, Hauessel pick ups, more of a P neck but still 39mm at the nut Edited May 14, 2018 by Cuzzie
GisserD
Didn't John snow wear black tho??? I'd have called that one "Daenerys Targaryen"
Cuzzie
He took the black aye lad, being a man of a darker skin tone, I felt it fits!
ead
Although the TT and VM have found new homes I made the crucial error of messing around on the configurator today and now have an irrational hankering for this:

uk_lefty
Sandberg are on my list for if a windfall comes in... Been waiting over a year for one that may never come though! Played one at the bass guitar show a few years back, VM4 I think, nicest playing bass I've ever tried.

Blue one because of 2 things - my Marleaux has the best B on planet earth so I always gigged that, and because a mate kept begging me to sell it to him. White - because I'm a massive fecking idiot and need a slap.
ezbass
This was once mine and I parted with it as I’d gone all fivers at the time. If I’d known then I’d be back on four, I might still have it. Great P sound as I recall.
CameronJ
I’ve just realised, @mcnach, part of the reason for my purple wood grain bass GAS was seeing your Maruszczyk “JazzJake” custom. To be fair I was already GASing for that colour/wood combo but you added fuel to the flames

As you may remember, I mis-specced the colours on mine (ended up with a redder purple than intended because of a mistake I made, and I specced the 'vintage tint' when I had in mind the 'yellow tint')... so while yours wasn't either exactly the combination I was after, I think it looks fantastic. If it plays just a fraction of how good it looks, it must be amazing

If it plays just a fraction of how good it looks, it must be amazing Ah, yes, I remember you saying about the colour not turning out exactly right! According to the notes on the Sandberg certificate, the colour of mine is “Violett Burst”. Yep, with two t’s. It definitely plays and sounds as good as it looks. Totally cured my desire for a 5 string P bass and more. Although a 5 string P-loaded Wingbass might be on the horizon at some point down the line. I’m gonna see if they can match the finish to my Sandberg! That would be so cool 😈
dannybuoy
I've not been a fan of any of the VM/TM series based purely on demos I've heard, I always felt the MM pickup was too far south from its natural habitat and it didn't blend well with the P. I'd have to try one out for myself though! I was always interested in the single pickup Basic model though as a slim necked Stingray alternative: I picked up a Sandberg Basic from here for an absolute bargain and it's the best sounding bass I've ever had. Just plugged straight into any amp it sounds great even in passive mode, whereas with other basses, I've had I've always been trying different pedals and preamps to make them sound good!
