Hi. Anyone found an alternative for these strings. This is for me the best strings ever and now they're discontinued.

Rotosound is one but they're not as flexible and are dead too soon.

Flexsteels are my fave D'addario strings. I only have a couple of sets left:|.

DR Highbeams  were my choice for a while, as like the Flexsteels, they lasted well and  for me, sounded similar.

Mine too. I got a set on my 7ender P. After four months these strings are still bright. I would need two sets of Rotosound Swingbass to last this time period.

What's your comment on Dunlop Steels? I read a lot of positive comments on these.

For anyone liking Rotosounds, Warwick Red Lable steel roundwounds are great, last a fair bit longer, and you can get them for around £8/9 a set.

Dunlop Super Brights are even more flexible if that's what you're after.

What gauge do you use, I've have an unopened pack of Flexsteels I could sell!

I've not tried Dunlop Steels. :)

I have to say, I really love FlexSteels and I think I also just have one pack left in my drawer. Depending on which bass, I either use D'Addario NYXL or ProSteels. I also really like the balanced tension D'Addario string too especially as the E string on a 4 string set comes in at 107 gauge. it's a small difference but the extra tension and mass works well on my basses.

Tried the Flexsteels on all my basses but came back to the Prosteels. I found the extra bit of zing on the Flexs compared to the Pros made them a bit out of balance. So my reply to the OP is Prosteels.

Judging by the OP's avatar, perhaps they are being paired with a Thunderbird though? I've only ever put Flexsteels on a T-Bird, they sound balanced there since the pickups are so dark as it is. The Epi T-Bird I have for sale is wearing a set in fact!

A Gibson to be more precisely. It's a good combination.
