Ruarl
I just acquired a second hand Big Baby II and I suspect the Speakon sockets might need replacing. I removed the screws from the backplate last night, but I couldn't get it to budge. Has anyone removed one of these before? Do I need to unscrew anything else? or just apply more force? I could imagine that the plate could have become adhered to the coating which covers the cab, and needs a lever to un-stick.
jebroad
It could be tight cables behind it, i had this issue the other day. See if you can see behind to make sure theres no other way its mounted
BassBunny
I'd try contacting BF to ask if they use a sealant/adhesive when attaching the control plate. If not a careful bit of prising may be the order of the day, otherwise, front off, remove speaker and do it that way.
GregBass
It's not just a plate with sockets. The backplate is part of the crossover assembly. Unless they have changed their method since I had to change a crossover, they use a soft material to seal the cab when the crossover assembly is fitted. Over time, this act like an adhesive. Email barefaced support and I am sure they will be happy to advise you. [email protected]
