Beedster
Bit of a bummer to be selling this to be honest but despite a lot of interest in other stuff I'm selling to cover the costs of building work it isn't shifting, and whilst I love this bass, it's not as life-critical as my Precisions! So, obviously it's been stripped, body is waxed and is stunning. Hardware has the classic USA previous owner's social security number engraved! Neck is worn but fast, frets are fine with low-medium action. All round a very nice bass that comes complete with that rather substantial Pre-EB tone! It's been very well played and shows all the signs of 40-years of gigging, this is NOT a collector's instrument or an investment, it's just a great vintage 'Ray. Insured courier will be in the region of £40, or you can collect from Canterbury Kent. Generic hard case included in sale. Only trade I would consider at present would be a Mesa Walkabout head with cash my way. Edited May 20, 2018 by Beedster
silverfoxnik
Beautiful mojo in that 'Ray, Chris! Love the backplate with the previous owner's social security number etched in - it was obviously a keeper, or meant to be.. I had a '78 Stingrays about 20 odd years ago, which I eventually sold to Martin Petersen at The Gallery. It was one of the most naturally resonant basses I've ever owned - harmonics would just ring for days.. Might just be me looking back with rose tinted glasses, but IMO, there was just something very special about that early Leo Fender Stingrays compared to the Ernie Ball era models (of which I owned a few). Anyway, GLWTS ☺
Beedster
Hey Nik, yep, a great bass, as I've always found to be the case with pre-EBs, but sadly now sold
