stingrayfan
Longshot - but does anyone want to split the cost of a bit of software with me? Have found a great little app that works in the same way as a Tascam BT1 trainer. It slows down the song while retaining the pitch. The killer bit about it is that it plays, CDs, MP3s and MP4s (iTunes). The demo version lets you see it in action but prevents you from using it fully (naturally). I quite fancy buying the licence but it's $40. Anyone fancy going halves with me? I'd ask the guitarist in my band but he's not very computer savvy. Have a looksee: http://www.ronimusic.com/amsldowin.htm and PM me if you're interested. You could afford that if you stayed in one night of a weekend, no?
bassboy115
a teacher at my school told me about this (also a bass player). He has bought the software and loves it from what he told me.

If no-one's interested, I might buy it myself but I'd just thought someone might like to know about it and share it with me. Like I say, longshot but worth asking! alibabu
Have you considered Transcribe as alternative? I haven't tried the "amazing slowdowner", but I have been using Transcribe for some years. At the same price, this program will not only help you slow down, speed up, change pitch, or help you remove lead vocals (if the mix allows it), the program will in addition actually show you the notes played, and in the latest version also suggests chords, of any selected part of the music. Highly recommended! Fully working demo version available at the web site. a.
dr.funk
The demo version of Ableton Live will do that and more, might seem overkill but it's a great practice tool.
