bubinga5
Probably in my top 10 favourite Jazz Funk record's. Jimmy's bass playing is just way out there groove. Ferrante's keys are just fantastic...Bobby Lyle on Piano. I had never heard groove like this before until I heard this and mezzoforte Edited May 26, 2018 by bubinga5 delete
Burns-bass
It sounds like the soundtrack to a yahcht sales video. Guessing that’s the 80s production.

Harmonically, the tunes were interesting & very rich sounding. BB5, I know you are into Piano playing as well, check out this short Russell Ferrante video on stacking/poly chords. It gives you an idea how they got those themes and chord structures.
ezbass
It was that album that introduced me to Robben Ford. His first & The Blue Line album is still one of my top 10 albums, Roscoe Beck’s playing on it is sublime.
yorks5stringer
Funny, but whenever I've seen them (online), there's not trace of any of them wearing yellow jackets. At least at Butlins, you could see red jackets....
DaveFry
Stacked piano chords from '72 , a year before Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters album ( 39:28 ) 26:12 Reminds me of " Revelation " by the Yellow Waistcoatswithsleeves and Robben Ford
louisthebass
Saw them at the Royal Festival Hall in 1991 supported by Lee Ritenour - one of the great fusion bands. They've been blessed with having a couple of great bassists in Jimmy Haslip & Felix Pastorius.

Think the fact Haslip plays left handed with a RH string set up ie E string on the bottom makes it harder to play in his style. No matter what he is an incredible player and hugely entertaining musician. Dave
