gunkbass
Hi all I've just got myself a Darkglass Alpha Omega and I know it has a DI output and is a preamp pedal. Given that it's the only effect I use, can I now just get a power amp because the pedal shapes the actual tone and I just need something to provide the wattage to drive the cab? If so this might just save my final few vertebrae from warping under the strain of lugging my ole Marshall about. Cheers Gunkbass

gunkbass
Wow, maybe I'm not quite as much of a dunce at this stuff as I thought. Cheers.
Cuzzie
All an amp is is a Preamp and EQ section bolted onto a power section (being very simple) i nearly went for a Monique M700 as I get pedals mainly to tone my sound, but sometimes merging simple like a QSC power amp will do it
BassmanPaul
If the pre-amp pedal has sufficient output to drive the power amp you chose yes you can. If it doesn’t you can not! BTW, the only dumb question is the one that was never asked. Edited June 21, 2018 by BassmanPaul
