wambamalubop Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 I wonder if someone can recommend a double bass tutor somewhere in the area between the three cities of Bristol/Cardiff/Hereford? Bristol might be the best option as I often go there for various reasons. It would be great if there was someone based near to Hay on Wye where I am, but being realistic I expect Bristol or Cardiff are the likeliest places. Quote
TPJ Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Maybe try a search for local community orchestras. There's bound to be one or two near. Get in touch with the double bass players to see who teaches or where they go for lessons. Quote
bornagainbass65 Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 If you can get down (up?) the M5 to Stroud I recommend Richard Fitton-Perkins. He teaches classical arco double bass, jazz pizz double bass and bass guitar. You can find him via site called musicteacher.co.uk. I go for lessons and use his lovely double bass. 1 Quote

Burns-bass Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Another vote for Greg. Transformed my playing in a couple of lessons and is, quite frankly, a beast of a player. Wish I had the time to go back :-( Quote
