This is the older version with the lip over the jack sockets.

It’s exactly the same internally, they just made the case slightly smaller, reducing the lip at the top so that one can now use right-angled cables and have them pointing upwards. Also, the base on the new one is completely flat and has a standard screw for the battery compartment instead of the knob.
