0353203 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 (edited) HI All, Up for sale is my 100% original 1959 Fender Precision Bass with its OHSC. Sunburst finish, gold ano guard and maple neck - perhaps the holy grail of P basses. I've owned this one for some years now and although its not without its dings, dongs, scratches, play wear etc (see pics), overall it is in terrific condition for its age.....light also at 8.5lbs. Plays and sounds fantastic - low action all the way up the neck. The sunburst is still very vibrant and the chrome looks fabulous, very few signs of tarnishing. Like many other '59 Fender basses and guitars, no neck date (the mythical reason why is quite amusing) but 59 body date, pot codes and serial number. In summary, a rare bass in enviable condition & priced competitively. Cheers, Si Edited June 16, 2018 by 0353203 4
Ashborygirl Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Not often I feel the urge to comment but, oh my, that is really rather wonderful.
Kevsy71 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 That fingerboard is incredible!! Another beauty Si, now I just need to find a Fantasy World Cup league with an £11K prizepot... GLWTS!
Burns-bass Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 I"ve not seen this many amazing Fenders for sale since I heard about John Entwistle selling up for his divorce.
binky_bass Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 4 string basses hold no interest to me... EXCEPT... this one. Absolutely outstanding. The condition for the near 60 years it been alive is stunning. The temptation to sell up half the collection and replace it with this is almost overwhelming...

Daveyboyrooster Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Not very often a 'birth year' P Bass comes on the market, and in top condition too! Pardon my ignorance but shouldn't there be a 'paint stick' mark in the neck pocket?
Paddy515 Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Oh my lord!!! - Unfortunately, just ONE YEAR TOO OLD for my Y.O.B. dream bass. Will have to leave it for someone else!!! Haha.
