I know he wasn't a bass player but I thought his passing shouldnt go unnoticed (unless Ive missed it elsewhere, sorry). Terrific drummer in his day.

One of my all time favourite drummers. Loved his work along side bassist Tony Reeves. Especially loved this duo's work on John Mayall's "Bare Wires" album. If you have the means to isolate the bass and drums during the sax solo on this track ("Look In The Mirror") from the album, you'll hear how a rhythm section should sound.

NO WAY!!!

His playing on Barbara Thompson's Paraphenalia is great. A notable mention for Dil Katz and Dave Ball on bass.

Why does God take the drummers who can actually play and leave behind the millions of chancers who can't keep time?? I reckon he's a bass player and wants the good drummers for his own band...

RIP Mr Hiseman. Such a great drummer. Enjoyed his playing with so many great bands i enjoyed years ago, Jack Bruce, Colloseum II, Barbara Thompson, Tempest.

From memory he was one of the goto session guys back in 70's.

Sorry to hear this.

Check out 'Colosseum Live' - it's an excellent live set from Jon Hiseman (Drums) , Mark Clarke (Bass), Dave Greenslade (Keys & Vibes), Richard Heckstall-Smith (Saxes), Dave 'Clem' Clempson (Guitar) and Chris Farlowe (Vox) - a great double album.

Met Jon once when he came to drop in on some of Tony Knights Chessmen

at a shop I used to work in.....I was introduced by John Gummer.......

Jon was a tall, nice bloke - I probably gigged with him at the Refectory

a couple of years later with John Mayall, always sad when another one leaves.

Oh no....my favourite drummer.  Met him at couple of times at Paraphenalia gigs and was always friendly and ready to chat and autograph CDs (as did Barbra Thompson) which I treasure.  My sincere condolences to Barbra and her family.  A sad day.
