Brother Jones
I have EMG JAs (the regular ones) in my Jazz. Much as I like them, I'm contemplating a set of JVXs for more growl. But can I just drop the JVXs into the routs and plug them in to the existing EMG pots and loom? Or do they need their own for impedance/whatever reasons? TIA. Thunderbird
yes you can just pop the in your existing loom/preamp if you do not have an active preamp in your bass these wont go in as they are pure active pups

For my money the JV set is growlier than the JVX, if you can find them.
Brother Jones
Indeed - the only tweak I had to make was taking the washers off the tone pot. It's not ideal, but at least allows for reversion if needed. Not confident you can do the same if you decide on an active tone system like the BTS because the pots look deeper.
