Thunderbird
When I play my bass I find it has a bit to much brightness/twang (treble? ) for my liking I have adjusted the settings on my amp and it does help but I am just wondering if an EQ pedal would be a good tool to help fix this? cheers
bertbass
Cheap Behringer graphic pedal will do that for you.

BigRedX
IMO if you can't get a suitable basic sound from just your bass and amp then one of them probably isn't the right one for you.
BreadBin
Turn the tone down on the bass?

Used it yesterday as I had to go direct to a PA- perfectly decent for tweaking the tone.
bertbass
When my amp packed up once, I used one straight into a power amp and was pleasantly surprised at how good the sound was.
Osiris
@Thunderbird which bass is too bright for you? I seem to remember that your rig is quite dark sounding (in a good way) so I'm surprised that you have a bass that's too bright for it. 23 hours ago, BreadBin said: Turn the tone down on the bass? Sounds obvious, but have you tried this before getting the credit card out?

Try backing the tone off or maybe putting some flats on it if you have any laying around before buying anything. Unless you're just looking for an excuse to buy a new toy that is

Unless you're just looking for an excuse to buy a new toy that is LOL I have flats on all my basses now mate on my old rig it had a better EQ section than my new rig and I could get just the sound I wanted so this is why I think a cheapo EQ pedal will do the job
