outsidetown
Hi everyone, I've been playing guitar for a few months but it's never really clicked, and I had most fun when I was playing basslines with an octave effect. So yesterday I popped on Gumtree and immediately saw a mysterious "4 string bass and amp" listing. Turned out to be a basically new Vintage Modified 70s Jazz and a 25 watt Frontman , which would have been my choice of both guitar and amp. £200 and a nice chat later, I guess I'm a bass player now. Main influences at age 33 are Screaming Females, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Pixies, and all sorts of Motown and Soul. Really, anything with some driving bass is where I'm at. Booked a lesson, and am looking forward to learning more here, too! James
SpondonBassed
Welcome James. Let me just warn you; this won't be the first purchase you are likely to make as a result of the GAS. I hope you get great mileage from it.

josie
Welcome to the low end! Sounds like great first gear (probably not the last 🙂 ) and good decision to go straight for lessons. Let us know how it goes!
