funky8884 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 (edited) I bought this bass from this Parish earlier this year and I think I am the 2nd owner The reason I bough the Bass was so I could own a nice solid light weight 5, I haven't gigged the bass as I am not in a band at the moment and it has mostly sat in the corner of my room in a case The bass is Immaculate except a small mark which from the previous owner and some discolouration of the top the Knobs due to the bass being slid in and out of a soft case. I believe these are the original strings ,they don't have zing but aren't dull either The frets have slight marks as all played basses do, but no evident wear. The previous owner had the weight advertised as 3.7kg which was the main reason I bought it. The neck is very playable ( fast ) and if you are transitioning from a 4 string to a 5 string this bass makes it easy. Spacing at the Bridge is 19mm and it tapers nicely to the nut allowing easy plucking and easy fingering The action is low and it hasn't buzzed on me Below are the manufactures spec The bass looks amazing in the flesh and I will get some pics up very soon, I am looking for a sale as I have just purchased another bass and the house rule is 1 in 1 out, I can post the bass and I also drive from Exeter to Cumbria quite often so I can meet up if needed Thanks for looking and if you have any questions I am more than happy to answer CONSTRUCTION: Bolt-on CUTAWAY: Double Cutaway BODY: Alder body with Spalted Maple and Padouk Top NECK: Hard Maple Neck FRETBOARD: Rosewood, 12" Radius(305mm) SCALE: 34" (864mm) TUNERS: Hipshot Ultralight Tuners BRIDGE: Babicz FCH5 Bridge PICKUPS: Bartolini Jeff Berlin Custom Soapbar Pickups ELECTRONICS: 1 volume, 1 Balance, 1 Tone passive Electronics HARDWARE: Gold Edited July 31, 2018 by funky8884 Pictures
Cuzzie Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Great basses these, vastly underrated, beautiful sounding neck pick up GLWTS
funky8884 Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 Thanks Cuzzie, These do punch above their weight and the neck pick up does great rock and also reggae/dub with the tone rolled off.
Cuzzie Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 I meant to also say that it’s an awesome bridge pick up too!
6feet7 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) I was this bass' first owner (I bought if from Bass Direct) and can say that they are brilliant. You also have Jeff Berlin's signature on the back of the headstock, which he put on at a Bass Direct workshop. GLWTS Edited June 25, 2018 by 6feet7 1
funky8884 Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 Thanks , yes I forgot to mention Jeff signed the bass.
funky8884 Posted July 7, 2018 Author Posted July 7, 2018 Semi Final Price Reduction £600 Come and get a great bass 1
Chris2112 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Magnificent value for a tremendous instrument. I got a Rithimic 4 last year and it shot to the top of 'favourites' list. I've played, owned and still own some amazing high end basses but if there could be only one, it'd be my Rithimic!
funky8884 Posted July 10, 2018 Author Posted July 10, 2018 Thanks Chris, these basses are often overlooked. They are so light aswell
funky8884 Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 Hi , I will measure the nut tomorrow morning when I get home 1
funky8884 Posted July 18, 2018 Author Posted July 18, 2018 Just now, funky8884 said: The nut measures close to 45mm, I just had a quick play and the neck is awesome and feels very small in my hands.
funky8884 Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 As mentioned in the Introductions topic on Basschat.
