Tribute bands - where the name is better than the band

My favourite was/is a Scottish band "Raj Against The Machine"; it helps if you understand Scots slang.

There's a very good Hungarian Iron Maiden tribute band called "Iron Maidnem".

Various punnery involved, as "majdnem" means "almost" in Hungarian, and "nem" means "no".

They go the absolute hog, too, with their own Eddie and everything.

there's a Brazilian all female Iron Maiden tribute band, called Iron Maidens.

Musically they are absolutely spot on. \m/

Thought they were Californian? I read a story once about some of Iron Maiden going to see them and discussing whether they'd be willing to have physical relations with "themselves".

I stand corrected. The band I've seen are The Iron Ladies, not as previously alluded to The Iron Maidens.

Off top of my head we've played with at least three: Noasis, Oasish, and Definitely Oasis. My favourite part of doing tribute festivals is checking out band names tbh: laziest was a tie between The Killerz and Antarctic Monkeys and my favourite was probably Illegal Eagles.

Nita Strauss (Ibanez endorsee and member of Alice Cooper's band) was once a member of The Iron Maidens
