radiophonic
I'm thinking of moving on my Strymon El Capistan. Great delay, bit I fancy a change of flavour. However there is one thing it does that I've not seen elsewhere - sound-on-sound - where the input signal is recorded, looped and progressively overwritten as layers of new input are added. Has anyone else done a pedal that offers this option? I'd miss it, but the El Cap is a lot of pedal for just that. Any ideas? Dosi Y'Anarchy
Didn't the old Danelectro Reel Echo do this? Also, I seem to remember the Subdecay Echobox did this too.
radiophonic
The danelectro is pretty bulky if i remember correctly - I think there was one on sale here about a year ago. I'm not familiar with the subdecay but there seem to be a couple of different versions - there's no mention on the v. review i read though. I'm guessing I'll end up biting the bullet and losing sound on sound in favour of some sort of weird reverb. I think I'd get more out of a verb than a second delay and something with some novel modulation would be interesting. EQD or similar. sifi2112
Moog MF Delay can kinda do sound on sound to some degree plus pseudo reverb / droning with exp pedal or ramp button & degrades just beautifully grainy here’s a link to a (withdrawn) fs thread I posted a while back for a bit more info ...
