hooky_lowdown Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 Anyone know the screw size that will fit in a Dunlop straplock? After moving straplocks from bass to bass, the heads on the two screws are now stripped and I can't turn them anymore - infact they are a mess so I've had to chuck them. Need new screws, but can't find anything that fits with the small head size needed? Quote
Thunderbird Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I just got a pack of mixed screws from the pound shop there was some in that the right size not much help as I don't know the exact size Quote
Count Bassy Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 I think they have a narrower head than standard screws of the same thread size, so if you can't get the real thing you might need to find a screw that fits through the hole and then grind the head down so that it goes down as far as it should. That's pretty much what I do. Despite the power of modern search engines, I've never personally found a way of finding narrow headed screws - or where they quote the head diameter at all. Quote
hooky_lowdown Posted July 5, 2018 Author Posted July 5, 2018 After some research I've just ordered some self-tapping screws (size 6 - 3.5mm) from evilbay. These should do the job. Quote
