alyctes Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 The fours come up occasionally, but this is a rarity AFAICT. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-BX5-BX-5-80-s-type-headless-5-string-bass-guitar-with-hard-case/223040898494?hash=item33ee4605be:g:-OUAAOSwZrdbOS61 Quote

Woodinblack Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Ooh - B2V going soon you say?? I haven't seen one of those before, but 5 string headless are always a bit of a rarity anyway, which is why it was on my 'to build' list. Quote
EMG456 Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Honestly, you look away for 5 minutes and then... Rare enough in the standard black / 4 string variety but a white fiver? And a bargain to boot- well done Paul S - that'll be a cracker! Quote
Paul S Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 (edited) Indeed it is!! Opened the box just now and have a huge smile. What a fantastic thing! If Klingons made basses they would look like this. Through my home practice set up it sounds fantastic - much more organic than the EMGs of a Hohner with a nicely distinct tone. Very tight string spacing, which I love. And not heavy at 3.4kgs. I feel like I have stolen it for that money! Edited July 6, 2018 by Paul S delete apostrophe!! My wife would have killed me had she seen it. Quote
Paul S Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Took it to yesterday's gig - first time I have used it with the band. Sounded absolutely amazing and so comfy too. Result indeed! 1 Quote
Paul S Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 In case anyone else has one in 4 or 5 string and is looking for a gig bag to fit such an odd shape - a BSA rifle back pack 43", intended for a scoped rifle, fits almost exactly. Offers fairly good protection, too. 1 Quote
