How do I stop the latest version of the forum software from converting my text smilies to those nasty picture ones?

There used to be a setting in the text entry box to disable automatic smilies but I can't find it anymore.

Yes, earlier this week I was trying to enter a 'c' followed by a colon, as in a list, but it kept getting converted  ie:

A:

B:

😄

We at least you got answer. I asked the same question a couple of months ago and it was completely ignored. The forum software seems to be heading more and more towards the illiterate Facebook generation.

Maybe not ideal, but a work-around would be to have a space in between...

A :
B :

C :
D :

E :

... or use a 'bulleted' list ...

  1. First
  2. Second
  3. Third
  4. Fourth
  5. Etc...

Hope this helps.

if  you invent your own smiles or try other codes that's not already being used here - so then you still can use text ones, like these - one of my fav ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
