pst62
Just a heads up (in case anyone here has thought of splashing out) there is no mention of these being re-issued on the official Tokai website. However there is a warning that counterfeit basses with their brand name on are being sold on eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tokai-Hard-Puncher-TPB-OWH-Precision-Electric-Bass-Guitar-in-White-Padded-Gigbag/382512461595?hash=item590f84f71b:g:pjEAAOSwEARbGpop
TheGreek
I surreptitiously mailed the seller. They replied: Hi, this is a genuine modern tokai. Purchased direct from tokai Europe. You can contact Bob at tokai Europe and ask him about it and us. Kind regards Steve I checked Tokai Europe...they don't seem to stock any basses. http://www.tokaiguitarseurope.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=bass Edited July 7, 2018 by TheGreek
Bassassin
They do - search under electric guitars & there are 2xP models, 1xJ plus a T-bird & EB3. http://www.tokaiguitarseurope.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59&page=1 None of them are the Ebay one - the P & Js have the later shape headstocks. I'd agree this looks like a Fakai.
nukedukem
I bought a vintage white Tokai Jazz from eBay, with a nice matching headstock. It's OK, typical budget Chinese stuff, horrible bridge, but otherwise nicely built and it sounds good. I tried checking with Tokai Europe to see if it's genuine, but they haven't replied.
