Jaime Tortosa
I want to know what's your favorite bass solo. I let you two of my favorites:
bassaussie
Robert Palmer's cover of "Early in the Morning". The bass is amazing all the way through the song, then there's this blistering solo that comes from nowhere! It's around 3:20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZyD_b3xSzI And this guy does a great job of breaking it all down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pQHRInI8pY
ezbass
Andy Fraser’s solo on Mr Big from the Free Live album; not technically difficult, but superb build and note choice. Edited July 11, 2018 by ezbass
Jaime Tortosa
Mr Big is great.
Conan
Generally speaking I don't like bass solos. And this track is not exactly a "solo" anyway...
P-ZARN
This version of Mr Big is by far the best This was on the 'Free Story' album
fleabag
Intonation slightly out up at the dusty end
paul_5
I’ve always had a soft spot for Billy Gould’s effort on ‘Kindergarten’ by Faith No More: https://g.co/kgs/DQQKMa

I used to listen to that album all the time. What a crackin‘ solo.
chris_b
Willie Weeks on Donny Hathaway's Voices Inside is a favourite, as is Dexter Redding playing The Awakening.
PawelG
https://pendofsky.bandcamp.com/track/psychobaton The guitar solo is super cool too.

Excellent suggestion... I think I'll go and listen to it right now.

Happy Jack
All American Alien Boy by Ian Hunter, maybe 60 seconds in. That's the young and unknown Jaco Pastorius more-or-less announcing his arrival. I bloody hate everything about Jaco and his music, except that solo.

Dad3353
Then you might appreciate this from the master Casady (let it build up; it's worth it...)...
visog
Jaco - 'Havona' on 'Heavy Weather' (see parallel Fretless album thread) Chris Squire - 'Does It Really Happen?' on 'Drama' Jimmy Johnson - 'Pud Wud' on Allan Holdsworth's 'Sand' Still very fond of Stanley Clarke - 'School Days'. More recently, virtually anything by Hadrien Feraud.

Japhet
Solo starts around 4.00 in.
lowdown
I like all the usual (and unusual) Bass solos from over the decades; Jaco, Patitucci and the rest of them etc. Slow/fast there is usually something to keep me interested. Just too many to list really.
