Bluepigbass Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 (edited) I am considering selling my rare and immaculate Kawai F11b from the 1980s. Classic alembic tones. Will ship at buyers expense. No trades. Based near Blackpool. Edited October 22, 2018 by Bluepigbass 3
fleabag Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Why 4 photos of the exact same shot and just 1 of the headstock ?
three Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Apparently, even Alembic thought that the wordworking on these was of a high quality

Bluepigbass Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 It is all original I don’t believe anything has been changed. Earlier models had a different bridge set up and some were through body I believe. In terms of the pictures, I was struggling with the IT etc being on the road 🙂

There are some old catalogue photos online somewhere 🙂
three Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Ah...that explains it - a good move on Kawai's part in my opinion. Not an Alembic type bridge unfortunately but a high quality option. I'd love to try this - is it a 32" scale?
VedranPU Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 One of the basses I really liked... It was a mistake selling it...

visog Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Read consistently good things about these. The inimitable Johnny Long (who's had trillions of high-end basses through his shop - watch the vids) also rates them. GLWTS 1
Bluepigbass Posted August 14, 2018 Author Posted August 14, 2018 Here are some pics of the back of my Kawai Bass immaculate throughout 🙂
Amerigo Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 beautiful I didn't see the answer about the scale length. Did I miss it ?

I actually wanted to know more about this bass, but this irritating silly billy was too much to cope with for more than 60 seconds. 1
TheGreek Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 I hadn't bothered to watch the video till you mentioned it. I forced myself to listen to just over 2 mins.
SurroundedByManatees Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 (edited) Hows the fretboard? It appears to be a bit dry from the pics, cant judge well though. What a beautiful bass. Btw, Ive got an old Kawai catalogue with these basses in it. I could provide pics if someones interested. Edited August 25, 2018 by SurroundedByManatees 1
TheGreek Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 I may be taking mine to the SE Bash later this month if anybody is interested in trying one.
TheGreek Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 These can sell for over a grand...comparable with basses which sell for much more.
BassManGraham Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Hi, what is neck width at top nut and string spacing at bridge please. Cheers
