LewisK1975
Came across these on Facebook the other day and subsequently searched Youtube and there's plenty there too, absolutely awesome. Here's their version of Distant early warning: 6
Zalastar
Oooh, now there's a difficult band to emulate.... seem to be doing a damn fine job though and now Rush have stopped touring (or so I read somewhere recently) there's a gap in the market :-)
Bassassin
Very impressive - particularly the vocal, which with Rush is arguably the hardest thing to emulate. Used to do this song with my covers duo (programmed drums/keys) years ago - it was one of the only Rush tracks I had the vocal range to sing, despite me sounding nowt like Ol' Bignose. Will be interesting to see how this chap gets on with the err, squeakier stuff!
JBP
That's very very well done, and not easy to do.
mattbass6
Fabulous. That is quite remarkable 😮
burno70
Yup - top cover that. Voice is perfect too. Thanks for posting.
kevin_lindsay
I saw that clip last week and was really impressed. The bass player gets a great Geddy sound from his G&L bass. Another fun Rush cover band are "Fred Barchetta" who feature Uriah Duffy (ex Whitesnake) on bass. The girl singer really nails the early Rush vocal on this track, I've included a YouTube link below: (Incidentally, how do you embed YouTube clips in replied on this forum?) http://youtu.be/HodK8zn7xz4 Edited July 31, 2018 by kevin_lindsay
Muzz
More my era of Rush, but this is terrific, too, especially the vocal: I've heard Geddy worse...

Skybone
There used to be a great Rush tribute band based in South Yorkshire, called "Bravado". Edited July 31, 2018 by Skybone

Daz39
I can mostly play a few dozen Rush tunes on bass, but i can’t sing for toffee, play keys or anything else while playing bass. That’s some top playing.
Woodinblack
I think I saw the same post as you - was it a G&L post on facebook? I was really impressed with their Alex and Geddy, especially their geddy as that is the one that rarely works as his voice is so characteristic. KevB
Have Bravado packed it in? I thought they were still gigging occasionally https://www.ents24.com/uk/tour-dates/bravado-2 Saw them a few times at The Diamond, always a good show.

wateroftyne
Best I’ve heard. If I was to nit-pick, the bass tone isn’t quite right IMO.

If I’m being ultra picky, from what I’ve seen, the drummer is the weakest link. He does have rather large boots to fill though. I love the rear view mirror on the right side of the top keyboard. Great way to check when the drummer is throwing the hammer down. yeah I agree, drummer isn't great. On that Limelight clip he's lagging behind the beat. He's sposed to be on top of it
