spongebob Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 (edited) https://www.loudersound.com/news/geddy-lees-big-beautiful-book-of-bass-gets-release-date Looks interesting, especially for us Rush and Ged fanatics! 😁 Edited February 12, 2019 by wateroftyne 4 Quote
dmccombe7 Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Me too. On pre-order thru Amazon. Thanks for posting this to let me know. Released 13th Dec just in time for Xmas pressie. Dave Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 I've already pre-ordered the book. Really looking forward to seeing the collection in print. Quote

I think I'm on a winner then - I pre-ordered and paid for it in February for £18.59 from Amazon. I'm pretty sure they have to honour the price! Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) Yeah, my pre-order price was £18.59 too, with free delivery (I also ordered another copy as a present for my friend Paul Turner). If you pre-order the book on Amazon, then they will honour the lowest price it is advertised for between the time you order it and when it is actually released. dmccombe7 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Is that the hardback version you ordered ? Just curious why such a discrepency in price Dave Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Just checked - my pre-order shows £18.59 as well. I was getting a bit worried for a moment! Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 The list price is £40, but the sale price will go down and up between now and the release date. The £18.59 price was a mega deal that the price reduced to shortly after it'srelease date was announced (hence why I ordered two copies!!). If the price drops below that amount between now and the release date, I'll simply be charged the lowest price. Quote

fretmeister Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 That would go nicely with my Entwhistle bass book. Quote
mentalextra Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I really hope PIno manages to diary his musical career in a book at some point? Quote
spongebob Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 Can't believe I missed it at the lower price! Reckon I'll hold fire on a pre-order to see if it comes down a bit. Sure it will, as Amazon's pricing structure appears to be made up on a daily basis! 🤣 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Spongebob - if you pre-order via Amazon, you'll only be charged the lowest price they list between when you place the order and the release date. So, if you pre-order at £40, when the price drops to say, "£22.99" you'll be charged that price. If it fell to "£18.99", you'd be charged that price. Basically, you're charged the lowest price advertised. 1 Quote
Bassassin Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Still think he should've called it Bignose's Bass Book - that's what it'll always be to me, anyway. Ordered mine when it was £18.59, happily. Quote

kevin_lindsay Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 If it doesn't drop between now and the release date, you can simply cancel the order before the release date. 1 Quote
dmccombe7 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 I'll get it for Xmas so not too fussed if its £40. Will still be a god read i think...............I HOPE Quote
fretmeister Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 https://rushbackstage.com/product/6XAMRU0174/ultra-limited-edition-geddy-lees-big-beautiful-book-of-bass $950.00 I'd expect to get a bass included for that! Quote
Monkey Steve Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 I'd expect Geddy to come round and read it to me for that price that said. while it's not worth anything close to the money, it's a very nice package - special applause for the tolex case 1 Quote
bassfan Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 😲 surely there’s a decimal place error ....... Quote
burno70 Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Nice swag which I'm sure Geddy fans would love to get their mitts on - but that price is eye-watering! Quote
