Twanger
Two. A fretless Precision (parts - Squier body, MIM jazz neck - coz I couldn't find a fretless P neck - and original '62 pickup). The other is a semi home made 35.5 inch five string which is a pig to play but sounds great. And makes a '70s Jazz look featherweight. Mostly I play the fretless because it is a delight and a joy. And I have three guitars - one acoustic and two electric. The P gets more play than everything else put together.

Muzz
With a firm grip and some serious mental fortitude, I'm down to four main gigging basses (two Shuker Horns, a Shukerbird and a Dingwall ABZ4), five 2nd Division basses (a BB1024x (going soon), an Aria ZZB (going soon), a Harley Benton P, a Michael Kelly acoustic and a bitsa P which is technically my sons), and two guitars (an Ovation acoustic and a 70s Arbiter Les Paul). That's this week, anyway... 😕😀

The typical, J, P and MM's. A few goto gigging basses with a couple as backups or for alternate tunings Perhaps a vintage, YOB or iconic bass or two. But 20+ seems excessive :).. How many is in your collection, its probably earlier in this thread so apologies if you are repeating yourself. CameronJ
The current list... Dingwall Super P5 Sandberg California VM5 (soon to be for sale I think) Yamaha BB735a MTD Kingston Super 5 Sandberg Electra VS4 Wingbass NT5 (being custom built in the US, soon to be shipped!) Oh, and a Tanglewood Electro acoustic bass (decent quality, I’ve used it on shows) and a “Vintage” electro acoustic bass (fairly crap). CamdenRob
I am down to Two Wals. Fretted and Fretless Sixers. Although I do have an incoming Emperor Standard Classic when their next batch is complete around October time. I also have an out going Jazz bass that’s been taking up space in a case for a while, so I’ll be staying at 3. Should I ever be fortunate enough to not have to work and live in london and therefore not reside in a matchbox, I suspect the collection would spiral out of control fairly quickly 😕 Edited July 29, 2019 by CamdenRob
