vinorange Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 (edited) At first glance this looked like a genuine ad by someone selling something they knew nothing about. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F362414758639 However, since it’s a lovely select USA jazz I thought I’d back check and the same photos were used to sell the same bass on 27th July in the US of A. The seller claims not know much about it as it was his uncles piece. I can’t attach the completed listing but search completed items with fender Jazz amber burst and it comes up. So, as it’s located in the Isle of Skye, cash on collection, is it genuine or is it a scam (although I can’t think what scam it would be for cash on collection)? Oh yeah and they created their account with a flurry of small purchases on 6th August. Me smells a rat. Maybe. Maybe it’s an attempt to boost the flagging visitor numbers to the Isle of Skye now it rains there every day again. I'm a bit confused...... Edited August 15, 2018 by vinorange Quote
Bigwan Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Scam. Isle of Skye is the giveaway. Same guy has been doing this for a while... Quote
vinorange Posted August 15, 2018 Author Posted August 15, 2018 Oh really. Glad I raised it. I have reported it as suspect to eBay but people are bidding. Maybe this post can help a fellow basschatter who may be bidding..... 1 Quote
alyctes Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Closed because "there was an error in the listing". Yup, indeed there was... Good work 1 Quote
vinorange Posted August 16, 2018 Author Posted August 16, 2018 Glad it was closed. I sent a link of the original ad to the seller. I’m sure that had something to do with it being withdrawn...... 1 Quote
