An interesting.. oh never mind, I've done that to death - so, Fretless...

Not much help recommending GMR, because they're scarcer than hen's teeth, but if you ever see one of these, grab it!

I bought this on BC for £350 - pleaded with the seller to take more, but he wouldn't. Stunning playability, tone, and build quality. Still feel bad about paying so little to someone who clearly needed the money, for such a superb bass.

Quick take Bridgehouse's computer off him before he gets a reply to his PM🙄

It’s gone way beyond that - I’ve emailed Jon...

Have you played any Shuker Basses?

I ask because although I think that all of his original design basses look stunning, I've yet to play one that I even remotely liked the feel of.

No, hence emailing him to arrange to go over and try it ;)

It is different, and I like that, and if it feels good then we’re on..

But I do have an ACG possible to ponder as well now and that’s very tempting too..

I’m going to end up with two, aren’t I?

If you can get your hands on one, you should definitely try a Pedulla Buzz. For me it's the best fretless I've ever played that wasn't my custom made Sei.

I guess rarity is going to be the issue. There’s a few others I’d like to try listed above but in my budget it’s used, and it seems that the better they are the more people hold on to them and don’t sell them ;)

I had a Shuker 6 strings bass and as I liked to say, it's a typical British design, sober is the word, then play it and you'll understand the craftsmanship behind the instrument it's close to perfection.

Go on, you certainly won't be disappointed.

You'll be fine, really helps with listening skills too.

Exactly why I’m doing it! Even if I never gig with it, it will be brilliant for my own personal musical development

Congratulations, I've seen that the bass is sold. You now own a superb fretless bass. Don't be afraid to play it, the more you'll play, the better you'll sound. 👍
