I have just purchased a Fender Player Series P Bass and I am looking to change the stock pups. I have heard a lot of good feedback on the GZR pups and I wondered if any members have them in their P Bass and if so how do you rate them?

I have a brand new set sat next to me that I have been promising myself to get installed in to a bass.. I will be comparing them against the pickups in the bass and also the EMG HZ Passive P pickup too. If I pull my finger out, I will record samples of each for a BassChat review.

Time it seems is not plentiful when it comes to setting aside some 'me time'.

I had one as part of a PJ set in my Squier VM PJ. Wasn’t too impressed with it to be honest. Ended up replacing with a Dimazio DP122 and was much happier.

Why what was the problem with the PJ set?

i just didn't like the tone. Nothing more than personal preference i guess. I thought the P sounded bland and a bit lifeless. Might even have been down to the bass they were in. As i said, once i replaced it with the DP122 the bass came to life.
