sk8 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 He hadn’t been answering my emails but I sent my pedal in for repair anyway. I got it back today with a note saying he had passed away 3 Quote
No. 8 Wire Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Terrible news. He was a great guy and super helpful, even when i was just asking him about a used pedal i bought. Sad loss. Quote
AndyTravis Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Met him once in about 2007. Lovely lovely man. Quote
wateroftyne Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Ah, that's sad to hear. I bought a couple of pre's off him back in the day. RIP. Quote
KiOgon Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 That's a real shock, very sad to hear, RIP Dave. Quote
paul_5 Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Aw man, such a shame. Great guy to chat to; really helpful and knowledgeable. Quote
Sibob Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Had a couple of pedals over the years, very sad to hear!! Si Quote
Happy Jack Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 That's awful. He built some lovely stuff for me. He will be missed. Quote
MuddBass Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Rip. Such a friendly and intelligent individual. He will be missed. Quote
HazBeen Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Oh dear, I used his pre for years. RIP mr. Hall, you will be missed. Quote
umcoo Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 That's sad news, I'm sorry to hear that. DHA pedals were all the rage when I first started coming on here back in the Bassworld days. Owned a few and sounded great. Quote
tobiewharton Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Really sad news and a true loss for the UK bass scene. Quote
Painy Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 I was looking on eBay earlier on just this evening to see if there were any DHA preamp pedals about but only a few overdrives and the new spitfire guitar preamp listed so tried to look on the website but nothing was loading up - I'm guessing now that this might explain it sadly. 😞 Quote

bartelby Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Oh no, that's terrible news. I had a VT2 EQ for a while, loved everything about it but the size. Sold it to fund something else, possibly the only pedal I regret selling. Quote

Such a shame. I’ve just snapped up one of his valve DI’s second hand instead as I’m sure they will start to become collectors items! RIP Dave, thanks for all your great work. Quote
Al Krow Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 This thread seems massively poignant now: RIP Dave Quote
paul_5 Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I ran a VT1 eq for years, and have lost count of the number of gigs and studio sessions where it proved invaluable. ☹️ Quote
Kiwi Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 Sad news, Dave was a great guy. I still have one of the prototype valve compressors he sent me for testing. Quote
