alexa3020
Hi chaps, im looking for a pedal to thicken up my sound when the guitarist is soloing. I usually stick to the top of the neck and was thinking it might be nice to have just a touch of the higher octave. I am on a budget though! ive come across the ammoon octa pedal, it looks ok in this video anybody had experience with this pedal or this brand in general. Any other recommendations for pedals for around the same amount (£40) would be most welcome thanks in advance!

alexa3020
Thanks for the link. I'd seen the valeton and just skipped past it because.. well, for no good reason really. After a bit of research this does look good, although it doesn't do octave up. It's a bite more expensive than the Valeton but it is analogue. at £60 it's not too far way from the Ehx octave multiplexer Decisions! uk_lefty
I know it's not the same pedal but I had a budget Tomsline octave pedal that added fifths, octaves up, etc. Tomsline stuff looks the same as Donner and Amoon for a lot of products. It didn't last long for me. The higher frequency sounds just sounded like an old Nokia phone having a fit, it wasn't at all natural. I have no idea why anyone would want that. I would be wary of budget pedals for octave up and go for the tried and tested stuff closer to the £80-£100 mark otherwise you could just be throwing away £25-£40 or whatever on the cheaper stuff. alexa3020
Yeah, you are probably right - 'buy cheap, buy twice' an all that! No resale value most of the time either! I am pretty tempted now by the valeton Edited August 21, 2018 by alexa3020
Japhet
I've just picked up a used Valeton OC 10 off ebay for £40. Looking forward to trying it out. As said earlier in the thread, cheap pedals doing octave up have always sounded horrible to me so I'll tend towards using 1 and 2 octaves down from higher up the fretboard. I've grabbed one direct from Donner for £35 I think, though I am not sure if I am going to be roasted for customs and excise yet!
