casapete Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 This just blows me away every time I hear it. Just something about the delivery that makes me stop and listen. First heard it on the radio at 2am coming back from a gig down south, just me in the car - nearly crashed as was concentrating listening so much!! Not for everyone I'm sure though, but for me just wonderful. Quote

Maude Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 If we're going down the Shatner route, this one is brilliant, with a bit of help from Joe Jackson on vocals. Quote

DaveFry Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 George Shearing turned " Mack The Knife " from an uptempo swing tune to a haunting ballad in the relative minor . Quote
Paul S Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 I quite like this bunch - Pink Turtle. And especially Smoke On The Water. Quote

"Carry on screaming" was of course the stand-out of the series, and as I recall FF briefly distracted my teenage lusts away from Purdey of the "New Avengers" before there was Nina Hagen and Siouxsie there was Fenella - the original Goth queen....
