la bam
Hi all, I'm considering getting a combo probably second hand for smaller gigs and gigs where we are travelling light in one vehicle etc. However, if need a few things: 1. Approx 300w (old school level). 2. Built in tuner. (Which must be good). 3. DI out. 4. Decent comprehensive eq. 5. Fairly compact. A 2x10 or 1x15. Otherwise I might just as take my full usual rig. Weight isn't that much of an issue, but I really don't want to be hoiking 50kg of trace around if I can help it! If it has wheels, that's great. Budget probably £200 second hand. Any ideas welcome. grandad
Have a look at the TCE combo range.
casapete
There’s a Fender 200 Rumble combo for sale on here at the moment, priced at a very reasonable £200. Really loud for their rating, lightweight and sound great. No tuner, but there’s always the option of a cheap clip on.......runs for cover....😁
Hellzero
If the built-in tuner is mandatory, then the choice is very narrow, TC Electronic or Peavey in the 3 combos below : https://www.thomann.de/gb/solid_state_bass_combos.html?price-first=0&filter=true&manufacturer[]=TC Electronic&manufacturer[]=Peavey&feature-46931[]=1x 15"&feature-46931[]=2x 10" For the price these retail, my advice would be to buy it new. I'm going to be biased but it's a great amp and I've never needed any more when playing functions, pop punk gigs or big band gigs!
funky8884
I've heard great things about the Rumble amps, unfortunately never played one but the owners say they go loud
songofthewind
Your criteria point to the TCE combos. I had the 115 second hand, and I thought it was a very goo£ amp at two hundred smackers. Very clever EQ on these amps, btw.
