SpondonBassed Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 With white primer your "very yellow" will pop, as they say. It may be reminiscent of the electrical banana that Donovan mentioned many years ago. Marvellous. Quote
DarkHeart Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 Bit of paint on it now, starting to take shape. 3 Quote
Andyjr1515 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 It's a pity I don't have spray facilities - some of these recent 'poster paint' colour jobs look SO good. This looks fabulous Quote
Jimothey Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Loving the yellow with the black headstock!! Looks awesome 😀 Quote
DarkHeart Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Been sent this today, an idea of how it will look with the black plate, obviously I need a different one due to the different pups but you get the general idea. 2 Quote
DarkHeart Posted October 17, 2018 Author Posted October 17, 2018 It is yellow....very yellow! And I like it! 4 Quote
Oopsdabassist Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 My kinda bass!! I usually struggle to like 'coffee table' styles so this is a breath of fresh air!!! 1 Quote
DarkHeart Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 Guess the paintwork is done, picking it up on Monday, couple of imperfections but hopefully they wont be noticeable built up. Quote
DarkHeart Posted October 22, 2018 Author Posted October 22, 2018 Got the body and neck back this morning, quick mock up looks good to me, still waiting for copper shielding tape so can't finish it just yet. 3 Quote
Bigwan Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 (edited) Here, Prince Charles is just off the phone. He wants his ears back... In other words I'd be looking at smaller tuners if I were you. That's going to throw the whole thing off... The rest is looking great! Edited October 22, 2018 by Bigwan Quote
AndyTravis Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 See, I disagree... looks good - all very cool. Quote

I am looking for different tuners as these were only cheap to get me away, I`ve got loads of the smaller type but the holes in the headstock are too big for them, does anyone make an adapter sleeve to convert them? Jimothey Posted October 22, 2018 Posted October 22, 2018 (edited) I hope this doesn't sound stupid but if your going to go for fishtail style tuners what's stopping you leaving the original bushes in and use them as a reducer and then fitting the new ones thru them?? That's working on the assumption that the original bushes are 16mm internal size and the new tuners are 16mm nut size you might need to ease the hole a little bit with a 16-17mm metal drill bit?? But It might work?? I've got some of each of the tuners so I'll give it a try and let you know if it works........... Edited October 22, 2018 by Jimothey Quote

Go on then 😉 just got it back again for the last time after a fret dress and setup, finally got the pickups wired and screwed in properly ( i missed a connecting wire DOH!) and here it is, the finished customized Pitbull RD kit.... the finish on the headstock is all that lets it down but I can live with that ...for now 😉 3 Quote
