Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for a mustang bass and I found this beautiful refinished 74 Mustang bass.
127e8dc451be733f24578c279c98503a09222c6d.
But something caught my attention...
As you can see there is no stamp or serial number on the neck/body
270ba6eb-cc6f-41b5-a91a-43f0ff2fabc9. eab2f92c-3991-4789-b831-624818204c2f.
b190fb40-ffb1-4a89-b2e8-6a7128652807.

The only serial is the one carved in the iron plate on the back of the body :
5b466928-9f1e-44d6-ad7b-1cffe397c6e7.

What are your thoughs about that bass ? Is this a risky purchase ?
To be honest, i'm scared about buying a partscaster bass...
Thanks and sorry about my mediocre english :)

There’s many mid  70’s Fenders without the stamps, so I wouldn’t worry. From the pictures there’s nothing that stands out as suspicious. Would be nice to the see the pickups and under the guard though, just in case.

Because of the bolt on neck, some old Fenders can become Partscasters, but for me it’s not a worry on a refinished bass like this because the parts look right for the age, given the pics available.

All looks good to me. The pot code is a Fender code, the code to date it is on the other half of that base.

Even if it didn’t have a neck heal stamp I personally wouldn’t worry.

And I bought it 1200euros, is it a correct price ?

Here’s that’s about £1080. Vintage prices vary and a ‘correct’ price is subjective, some will be priced higher and some lower. If you love the bass, then all’s good, that’s all that matters.
