Running Amp and No cab.

Is it possible to run an amp without connecting to a speaker, or will that damage the amp?

I want to run the amp with the line out to the desk.

Is your amp valve or SS? If valve, you'll knacker the amp very quickly unless you plug it into either a speaker or dummy load. I think you can get away with it on a SS amp, but there are probably still reasons why it's not recommended...

If it's SS, it's fine. If it's valve, you'll need a dummy load.

The only SS amp that I can think of that can't be run without a load is the Warwick Hellborg amp, all other SS amps are fine.  What amp is it?
