bassmansky Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 hi,can you tell the make and model of a guitar just by the serial number?probably a daft question so apologies! PS:im 75% sure of the make and model but need to be certain.thanks. Quote
Musky Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Not usually, but I suppose some manufacturers might reserve serial numbers for just one model. It's more usual for serial numbers to be applied to various models across a brand. It's easier to use the serial to tell you what it's not rather than what it is - if something has a 5 digit number it doesn't necessarily make it a pre CBS Fender, whereas an E+ 6 digits will tell you that it's not pre CBS. If you've got any pictures why don't you stick them up? Quote
