Guest MoJo
Prompted by a friends post on Facebook, I went back through all (as many as I could remember) the basses that have passed through my hands since I started playing in 1979. The list (below) is quite scary and sobering. Up until I joined Basschat (or Bassworld as it was then) I'd had about 6 or 7 basses and had gigged the fretted Maison for years. Basschat should come with a health warning 'Can cause G.A.S.' They're not listed in chronological order, except for the first six, just as I remembered them (went through the manufacturers) Framus Junior Short Scale Kay P-bass copy Squier Jazz (Brand new in 1982) Guild B302A Squier Katana Maison 4 string fretted (Tune Bass Maniac copy) Maison 4 string fretless ==== Joined Basschat / Bassworld ====== Tanglewood Artisan A6 Hohner B2a (x2) Westone Thunder 1A fretless Westone Thunder II Yamaha BB300 (x2) Yamaha BB350F (fretless) Yamaha BB414 (x7) Yamaha BB415 (x2) Yamaha BB424x Yamaha BB1024 Yamaha BB1100s Yamaha BB1500a Yamaha BB404 Yamaha BB405 Yamaha BBN5 (x2 - fretted and fretless) Yamaha RBXA2 Yamaha TRBX304 Gordy Headless (Status copy) Fender US Custom Shop Jazz Fender US Hot Rod Precision Fender MIM Precision Fender CIJ Precision Squier James Johnston Jazz Squier VM Jazz (x2) Squier Silver Series Jazz BC Rich Eagle (NJ Series) Sterling SUB Bass Musicman Stingray 4 (1990 - 2EQ) 30th Anniversary Stingray Musicman Stingray 5 Samick Greg Bennett Ferdinand Jazz Bass copy (x2) Ibanez GSR190 Ibanez GSR200 Ibanez SR300E Ibanez SR305 Ibanez SR400 Ibanez SR500 Ibanez SRX430 Ibanez SRX700 Ibanez RB950 Ibanez ATK700 Ibanez BTB1605 G&L L2000 Tribute Rickenbacker 4003 SX Jazz SX Precision Peavey Zephyr 4 Peavey Zephyr 5 Peavey International 4 Peavey Zodiac Scorpio DE Peavey Cirrus BXP 4 Peavey Cirrus BXP 5 Vintage V4 Tony Butler Signature model Vintage V4 (x2) Edited September 3, 2018 by MoJo

I had the same bass from 1976 up until I joined BC in 2010. Now I'm always skint and spend my time looking at bloody bass guitars when I should be playing the ones I've already got. I blame teh internetz. *As far as first-world problems go, obviously. Tsk. Edited September 3, 2018 by discreet

Witters
Yep, that’s a helluva list and I thought I was bad! Really boring I know, but the only GAS I get is for the time, talent and bands to do what I want to do with what I’ve got! Instead, I grab thirty minutes here and there when students don’t show. Maybe one day I’ll get a really sexy fretless and fretted (two instruments, naturally, and both 24 fret...although there was a super gorgeous 36 fret fretless on here very recently that I was beaten to). Ah well, dreams! Does GAS count if it’s tunes I want to learn instead?

Cato
Since joining up here in 2015 I've bought Squire VM70s Jazz + new bridge, pickups , wiring loom and pots. Sire V7 fretless Fender Deluxe Precision So, I'm a bit of a lightweight really. In the previous 25 years I got by with a Washburn Status and an MiM Jazz. Roger2611
Blimey, I just had a look at my owned / sold / kept book....and it is a book! It would take me days to list everything I have brought and sold, thankfully not all were bass related but with guitars, amps and keyboards I am over 10 pages.....I brought a Redsub semi acoustic off Evilbay the other day just because it was dirt cheap and I fancied trying one! Like I need another bass in the house!
