Jazz bleed through...

Hey guys.... I have a Fender Jazz Select, and even with both pickups wound back into the 'off' position, the tone knob still seems to act as a volume control. Very little gets through with all the bass removed, but as you wind the tone control round to increase the treble sound, it also introduces volume back into.the mix.... So to recap, both volume controls 'off', yet the tone control is acting like a volume control, particularly when turned in the 'treble' direction..... Any ideas on what the problem is, and how to rectify...Thanx...

Where are you based?!

I had a similar issue recently, different bass but same problem

 

Have a google up to find a jazz bass wiring diagram and recheck your wiring, wire by wire,  if your local Ish, I dont mind having a look / check for you

Thanks Donslow..... I will whip the chrome cover off and have a visual inspection of the wiring.... I recently moved to France, so might be a bit of a trek for me to get it too you, but thanks for the very kind offer...
