It's exhausting, I know, I've been through this with @binky_bass for the Aries I sold him and which arrived in pieces. And it took 8 weeks to get a full refund.

Not just yet! Maybe when I’ve been totally beaten to my wits end. Right now, me and it will be hiding in my man cave dreaming up some badass grooves! It’s definitely coming with me for Amp and pedal reviews!

Yeah I will need some Unbelievably Powerful Sedatives to get through another round of Unusually Painful Shipping.

A great result, congrats on finally being united with that fine looking instrument. What a debacle though! However, it may be that all that angst will actually add to your enjoyment of it. Thanks for sharing the experience, I think we all felt somewhat invested in the outcome.

I have of course a huge thank you to make. WUNJO GUITARS https://www.wunjoguitars.com for being, frankly, bloody amazing in all of this. I've had so many conversations with Jimmy in the bass department that he's practically family now. They kept on at UPS every day and would not let this situation drop for a second. They've displayed a customer service that I've not experienced "when the sh*t hits the fan" and get my thorough thumbs up.

I'd also like to thank Tom who stepped up to the challenge of recording me a whole bunch of videos so I could see and hear the bass in action as I was unable to get down to London to see it in person. Now that we are getting acquainted, me and the bass are gonna see if we hit it off together. We've just played through the whole of Queen's The Miracle from start to finish and that went pretty well.

Just have to say that i've been dealing with Wunjo recently,   it was Tom to be precise , the bass dept. manager, who was a joy to speak to, and got a fabulous deal from him.

The bass i bought didn't come with any case, and Tom said he'd throw one in with the deal if he could find one to fit  ( odd shape bass and very long )   Meanwhile, Tom shipped the bass in a fab quality Roksan gigbag,  ( plus cardboard boxes, 2 of ) free of charge, and a few days later, a brand new hard case arrived of the right size.

Wunjo / Tom / and James went beyond the call of duty in their customer service, and TBH, was a shock to see a business be so helpful.  10 / 10 for Wunjo

Have you seen that Bass direct have just had in a 1976 Jazz bass, same colour.  You could have a matching pair!!

I like Wunjo guitars- I was up in London. Two weeks ago and had a couple of hours to spare, so went and tried some Lowden acoustics.  They were very friendly, and didmt mind me  working my way up through several thousand pounds worth of guitars, putting them in weird tunings 😊

🙌 happy for you Dood! If another one bites the dust wasn't the first lick you tried on the bass I'll be disappointed! ;)

Another One Bites The Dust was the very first bass line I ever learnt!!

And yes, I did funk up a bit of AOBTD to see what this lil dude sounds like. It's a big PHAT sound from this one! I guess what some would call "chewy" and "creamy" rather than "zingy", but I might be forced to crack out the last set of Flex Steels I own on it, just to see how they balance (being really bright).

And here she is, the object of my affections. One Y.O.B Fender Precision Bass (1976) Of course in natural with a rosewood fingerboard.

This is a very specific configuration for a reason. Firstly, because I grew up listening to Queen. The late-70's mid-d80's era of John Deacon's "main" precision bass actually had it's sunburst finish removed to natural, rather than this one that came as is. Said Precion bass ended up having a refinish in black with gold hardware, which is rather sexy! Anyway, I digress...

I've been trying to find this spec bass for ages and have never been able to afford one. (I've just sold lots of bass gear!!!)

Also, many years ago, my mum helped me buy my first precision bass (which I tried to re-buy last year when it resurfaced some 25 years later on this very forum, but the seller wouldn't budge). I've always felt rubbish about selling it, so it will help put my mind at ease now that I have replaced it. - Funnily enough, same colour scheme!

YAYY!!!

Well, as I understand it, I think I recall Dave Ellefson telling me that he records a lot of his bass lines at home on a (much loved) Precision bass. So, I guess the answer is a resounding yes!

I thought I would just add, now that it has been a good week or so since my new bass arrived, we have started bonding. I have to say, it took a little while, but after getting some new strings on and simply tweaking the action just a smidge, I'm getting the feel-goods big style!

It's worn, it has some battle scars, but the tone direct in to my studio monitors is just... just lovely! I'm very pleased to also say that it loves @D'Addario UK strings. I went with Pro Steels to balance out the lows and low mids (this example has some nice thick mids when the strings go off) and it worked a treat!

A mild annoyance with UPS just now.

Got some random bits coming from Thomman due in Friday. Tracking page on UPS site says ‘hey, sign up for UPS My Choice so you can tell the driver to leave it in a safe place or with a neighbor etc.’

OK. Sounds good. Do that. Head back to page and click manage delivery. ‘Sorry, all options can only be chosen once a delivery attempt has been made’

It's a bit like when you get supplied a tracking number and when you check the tracking you only get the message:

"Tracking will be updated once the item has been delivered."

I used to think that UPS were golden. I've recently sent a parcel (signed for) to someone and it did not turn up. UPS were able to produce Proof of Delivery, but she insisted it was not her signature and had been in all day. I suspected that she was lying initially, but reasoning it through decided that I really had no reason to do so.

When I kicked off at UPS the parcel magically arrived with her, so the POD was clearly faked .

Yep, agree, definitely avoid if possible. I've had 3 occassions where I have stayed in to receive parcels delivered by UPS for them not to turn up, resulting in me having to go to the depot to pick up personally. On all occassions theyve claimed they rang the bell but I wasn't in. Couldn't be bothered trying to deliver in other words...

Got 4, yes four, parcels yesterday delivered by UPS and they were in perfect condition. That said the packagings were just awesome and I know the deliverer as he is coming quite often. 😂
