prowla
Let's see what it goes up to...
vinorange
It sold once for £800 but has since been resisted. Apparently the bidder was in Japan and had failed to mention that!
fleabag
That would make a nice axe. Mind you, its a Mex jazz, so how much would one of those be ? He hasn't listed the date ... then add a Status neck - and how much are they ? £400 ? If he wants as much as £800, i'd say it's a bit ambitious
vinorange
I wonder whether adding a status neck to a mex jazz makes it worth more than the sum of its parts? I mean you can snag a mex jazz for £300 if patient, add a £400 neck, maybe add a set up = about £750......
vinorange
That status necked jazz just sold for £560 but that wasn’t the full story. He sold it for £800 first time but the winning bidder was in Japan so the seller chose not to ship it to them (odd), then it got relisted but with a reserve and reached £610 but didn’t meet the reserve. Then it got re-re-listed without reserve and sold for £560 which is a good deal....... The moral of the story I guess is that each time the same item gets re-listed it reputationally chips value off the bass. If it was me, I’d have been shipping it to Japan after the first sale. anzoid
I bid on this the second time it came round, but didn't go up to the reserve price (didn't think it was worth more than the sum of its parts...)... and then it came round again, also with a reserve (I think) so this may be the fourth time round - and he got less (though not much...) than I would have paid. I also didn't push up my bid because I did some reading up on installing Status necks and there are (apparently) risks of splitting the carbon fibre if you don't do it properly, and there weren't enough photos to verify that as far I was concerned - I could have asked I suppose, but I lost interest with the constant "Reserve not met" messages. prowla
I nearly took mine to the Bass Bash on the weekend, but my guitar rack only had 5 slots.
