SpondonBassed
That explains his Teddy Boy dress tendencies then. I only see him as a Film critic on early morning BBC News at the weekends but I will see him differently from now on. Cheers!
AdrianP
I'm quite a fan of his film review show with Simon Mayo so know he talks about skiffle, americana and the double bass quite often. I remember one show when he played a duet with Tom Hiddleston who was promoting his performance as Hank Williams in I Saw the Light. I recall Mark's DB playing was really melodic and understated. Not big into skiffle but his band the Dodge Brothers makes for quite an interesting listen.
Dom in Dorset
I saw the Dodge Brothers at Glastonbury a few years ago , he can certainly play. I seem to remember him doubling on harmonica too. It turned out he went to school with a friend of mine and I was in a position to sneak said friend backstage to say hello. Great clips, ta. As a young man, my recurring nightmare was similar but in mine I was always stark naked. My orchestras were showing and I had a tiny mouth organ in my hands. I'm going to have to stop thinking of him as Mark Commode from now on though. That's a reflection of my distaste for critics generally but not for MK personally by the way. BreadBin
I've always enjoyed his critique of films - but was unaware of his other talents. Further confirmation of bass players being the classy ones.

RedVee
I too like his film review show and his book looks like an interesting read. He is also a massive Who fan, which ticks my boxes!

Cat Burrito
I bought a Dodge Brothers album about 10yrs ago, upon a recommendation. I like him, probably more than his band (if I am honest). he seems like a cool chap.
