SOLD Jon Shuker Series 1 £850

I’ve had this early example of Jon’s craft a few years now but it’s not getting played as much since I got a Dingwall so time to move on😀

I believe it is a maple burl top on mahogany body with ebony board on maple/mahogany laminate neck.

Spec includes

Bartolini pickup with 18v 3 band active eq
Red side LED’s
Drop d tuner

I’d prefer a sale but would consider trades for a Jazz of some kind ( not necessarily Fender) or a sterling. Maple fretboards preferred.

Will also look at trades for a 5 string.

Currently in a Warwick gig bag

Prefer collection or meet up within 1.5 hrs for this.I am Wakefield based but travel to Manchester regularly.

Also now happy to post due me being home based most of the time now.

That’s very nice. Shuker basses are absolutely fantastic.

3 band eq, volume (push/pull for the LED on/off) and a 3 way switched knob that I guess is series/parallel and what seems to be a boost

Ha ha - very amusing!  I'm surprised this is still here at this price. I have a lovely Shuker myself and the standard of the craftsmanship is top notch - easily on a par with other "boutique" basses. Someone is surely going to get a bargain here.

Where does the 2nd 9v battery go for  the 18v preamp , or is it underneath the one in the photo ?

Looks like a 2nd compartment above the control access panel. Not sure which is which tho but now i'm even more curious.

Certainly a stunning bass.

Yeah that would look favourite.  Maybe that upper control cavity takes 2 batts, as it looks big enough, and if you only want to run 9v, use just 1 in the electronics cavity

The preamp is 18v so that’s the double battery compartment.

The single one is for the LED markers
