A bit fousty. Not clinical like a modern bass sound.
Twincam
Love listening to isolated bass. 1. Because you really get to hear the intricacies of the player. 2. You get a sense of how tones etc then work in a mix. 3. Makes me feel better about my bass playing, as plenty of great players still sounded a bit rough solo and made plenty of string/fret noise, overtones etc. But sound fantastic in the mix.
la bam
Completely agree. Isolated a lot of tracks sound rough - pretty uninspiring, clanky, and loose, but they really sound awesome I'm the mix. I mean, there's always discussion on getting a super sound on here, and what head and can to use, but who here would class that tone on there as fantastic and just what they want to sound like? Not many. Yet in the mix it's outstanding. Edited September 25, 2018 by la bam

spectoremg
Fantastic - nice post. That whole album's a real bass treat. There's that fuzzy malarky on Heartbreaker as well. Tidy keyboard/organ player too.
