So I started to tell her how much and that I could get a pre-owned one for X amount because ordering a new one direct would just be too much. Then she said ‘well it’s your 40th next year and our 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up so why don’t you get an interest free loan and get a brand new one?’ On top of that, I was willing to sell my current bass to help fund it and she said ‘why don’t you keep it because you’ve always wanted to have more than one bass.’ I nearly fell off the bar stool.
