@BreadBin

Thanks for these videos! I found that my bass sounded very different of what I've already heard.... Maybe the natural reverb?

I noticed that a lot of people play with twin jazz selector down. Theoretically, that's series, worst mode to me. Up it's parallel, very much more articulated sound, punchy and clean, middle is single coil (I mean 1 jazz), more for jazzy nosy sounds...

When you play it alone, it's a world of difference!

Who's next?

Thanks again!

I was surprised by the reverb on the videos as it wasn't so obvious in the room, maybe to do with the frequencies the camera picks up? The true sound was deeper with less top end.

Someone else must want to try this out? I have 3 days off this week and am happy to meet up somewhere within an hour or so drive.

Or do we send it back to Tim to continue the love affair?!

Is it possible that others may be thinking they don't have much more to add to the comments that have already been made?

So if the following don't respond, maybe it's time for the bass to go back home?

@TrevorR - Staines, Middx
@Bridgehouse  - Peterborough, Leicester/Nottinghamshire
@Geek99 - Coalville, Leicester
@honza992 - Nottingham
@Vinny  - Wales

If it helps, I can probably get down to Wilts/Devon again in 3-5 (approx) weeks. I can collect the bass and get it to @TrevorR

Regrettably I don't have cause to travel much north of Huntingdon these days.

It's no problem to stay here until then - I should have time to take some more photos at least :)

I’m playing bass at an organised jam on 24th November in Leicester which I could take it to and there will be half a dozen bass players there who could try - would be video’d too.. if that’s of interest

That's not of interest, that will be just wonderful!

See the problem is, if I like this bass I might get you to do a fretless one :)

If someone can get it over to me before the 24th Nov then I'll take it to the Jam and let loads of people have a go on it. (With guitar, drums, keys, vocs etc in context too)

I have no time, and no time, but I guess if I do not sleep, it's still possible... But if you have the chance check the video of my first one on the first page, I have to say that this very one is my first "classical woods types" bass... I'm more into exotics usually... But..

The fretted will be fine for the 24th :)

You should do a lined fretless tho - yum yum !

It's a bit late now but something I had thought of, was if all who played it left a small donation in the case, this would crowd-fund the times someone needs to send it by courier.

Excellent idea indeed, I don't like to get money involved in, but if it, helps...

Don't forget if someone needs to send it, I will pay back the costs !

Given it's current schedule, is there a way to get it near(ish) to me by 24th Nov?

no rush from me to get it back so, it depends on the others... It's kinda stucked right now if I followed correctly...

That is very good of you @Marcoelwray

I get back to the UK on 5th November. It would be at least a week before I can get to the south. So, there is a chance, but posting it would make it more certain.

On the idea of photos; iconic picture ideas I've had are taking the bass with:

Black cab/taxi.   Red phone box.  Stone miles distance sign.  Football stadium of a well know team...

Nice ideas Rich!

The question is, who's next? There's no rush here ....  😕

If one of you want to get it back a whil it's OK I'll pay the send costs to @BreadBin

That would be brilliant! We can work out logistics somehow...

I should have called (is that gramatically correct?) this thread "The Unexpected Perigrinations of a Belgian Experiment in United Kingdom"
